Towards sustainable water and sediment management in Albania, the integration of Hydro-Morpho-Eco disciplines from Science to Management
12th October 2022 – Tirana

The University of Trento (IT) is glad to invite you to the workshop “Towards sustainable water and sediment management in Albania, the integration of Hydro-Morpho-Eco disciplines from Science to Management” on 12th October 2022, within the NaturAlbania project, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – AICS Tirana.
The relevance of an interdisciplinary hydro-morpho-ecological approach for integrated water and sediment management would be explored, as a baseline element in any River Basin Management Plan in Albania.
International researchers and practitioners will present the importance of hydromorphology and ecology for river management, as well as selected case studies and applications to several Albanian river corridors (Vjosa, Erzen, Shkumbin, among others). Moreover, the workshop would propose theoretical concepts and practical activities on water and sediment monitoring methods and instruments and their actual and potential implementation in the Albanian water management sector.
The workshop would be free and open to practitioners and professionals in water and sediment management and monitoring sectors, researchers and students, as well as practitioners of international cooperation, professionals and operators, belonging to profit and non-profit organizations, national and international institutions, networks, and professional associations interested in the topic. The event would be in English.
